On the self service portal there are ways to create display messages for communication with end users. Work 365 supports adding custom messages for the "Create" subscription and "Edit" subscription pages of the self service portal. These are applied through content snippets on the Dynamics 365 Portal app in Dynamics.

To set up these portal content messages:
  • In Dynamics go to the app management hub, and select Portal Management (for some it will be Dynamics 365 Portal)
  • Then in the left navigation bar select Content Snippets
  • On the name column apply a filter for Contains "QRB" and hit apply
  • The page will show the available content snippets.
    • Note there will be one content snippet for each language enabled on the portal which means content messages can also be applied in different languages.
    • Also note that the content message values will not be set up by default. This needs to be added manually.
  • There are four default content snippets available:
    • Subscription Create page: On the subscription create page of the portal two different content snippets can be set up based on the Quantity Reduction Behavior (QRB) of the subscription. If the QRB is
      • Disallow: Then the Subscription Create QRB Disallow validation will apply the content message on the create subscription page of the portal when the QRB on the subscription in Work 365 is Disallow.
      • Allow within Window: Then the Subscription Create QRB within Window validation will apply the content message on the create subscription page of the portal when the QRB on the subscription in Work 365 is Allow within Window.
    • Subscription Edit page: On the subscription edit page of the portal two different content snippets can be set up based on the Quantity Reduction Behavior (QRB) of the subscription. If the QRB is:
      • Disallow: Then the Subscription Edit QRB Disallow validation will apply the content message on the edit subscription page of the portal when the QRB on the subscription in Work 365 is Disallow.
      • Allow within Window: Then the Subscription Edit QRB within Window validation will apply the content message on the edit subscription page of the portal when the QRB on the subscription in Work 365 is Allow within Window.
  • Click into the content snippet name on the left side to add a message.
  • Save and Close
  • Then a Dynamics Portal admin should clear the portal cache.
  • Then the message(s) should display on the portal
